Product Functions

The main functions of the Kosmen KM-12N dehumidifier include:

Dehumidification

Removes excess moisture and balances humidity at a safe level, keeping the environment dry and reducing mold and dampness.

Clothes Drying

Dries clothes using dehumidified airflow while balancing room humidity, preventing re-absorption of moisture. Clothes dry without becoming overly stiff or faded.

Kosmen KM-12N integrates multiple superior features.

Air Purification with Negative Ions

Releases negative ions to eliminate airborne dust particles, maintaining fresh and clean indoor air.

In addition, the device comes with smart features such as a timer, full tank alert, overload protection, and auto defrost, making it suitable for homes, offices, and various indoor spaces.

WiFi Connectivity

Users can connect the device to WiFi and control its features easily through a mobile app. Once connected, you can set functions, monitor ambient humidity, schedule operation, and customize settings effortlessly.

User Guide

When first powered on, the machine enters standby mode. Press the power button to start. The default mode is continuous dehumidification at low speed with indicator light on. If restarted after being turned off, previous humidity settings will be retained.

On/Off

Press “On/Off” to start the device and the Power light will turn on. Press again to turn it off.

Comfort

Press the “Comfort” button to activate the comfort dehumidification mode. Humidity is set to 60% with low fan speed. Press again to deactivate this mode.

Anion

Press the “Anion” button to enable the negative ion air purification function.

Dry

Press the “Dry” button to activate clothes drying mode. The fan speed will be set to high with warm air. The machine will run continuously.

Humidity Setting

Press “Humidity” to adjust the desired humidity level. Choose “CO” for continuous dehumidification or set between 40% ~ 70%, increasing by 10% each press.

Timer

Press “Timer” to activate the timer function. The indicator light will turn on. You can set a time between 1–24 hours. Press “Timer” repeatedly until the screen displays “00.” After blinking eight times, the screen will show the current humidity and the timer will be activated/deactivated.

Fan Speed Setting

Press “Fan” to set wind speed to “High” or “Low.”

Note: In “Clothes Drying” and “Comfort Dehumidification” modes, humidity level and fan speed are pre-set and cannot be adjusted.

WiFi Connection Guide

Hold the “WiFi” button for 5 seconds. The WiFi indicator will blink, allowing the device to connect to the app.

1. Download the “Smart Life” or “Tuya Smart” app on your phone.
2. Use the app to scan the QR code on the unit and follow the instructions to connect to WiFi.

Notes:

• Make sure the dehumidifier, smartphone, and WiFi router are close to each other during setup.
• Ensure a stable internet connection; the device only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi.
• Follow the app instructions carefully.
• Ensure the WiFi password is correct.

           3. Proceed according to the app’s steps to complete the connection.

Operation

How the Dehumidifier Works

• When the compressor’s 3-minute protection period has passed and indoor humidity is ≥ set humidity + 5% RH, the compressor will resume operation.
• When indoor humidity is < set humidity – 5% RH, the compressor will stop.
• If indoor humidity is between (set humidity – 5% RH) and (set humidity + 5% RH), the compressor will maintain operation.
• The fan will shut off if the unit is idle for 3 minutes after humidity drops.
• When the unit beeps three times and the full water indicator light turns on, the machine stops. Empty the water tank and reinstall it.
• If the full water indicator remains on, ensure the tank is correctly positioned. The unit will resume once the indicator light turns off.

Defrost Mode

• After 30 minutes of operation, the copper coil sensor measures the pipe temperature. If the temperature is ≤ -1°C (within 3 seconds), the compressor stops, the fan runs, and defrosting begins.
• Defrosting ends when the coil temperature reaches ≥ 5°C within 3 minutes.

Indicator Lights

• Float for Water Level Detection

Do not remove the float from the tank. If it’s removed, the unit will not start.

• Reinstalling the Water Tank

When placing the tank back in the compartment, use both hands to push it firmly into place. Improper placement can prevent operation or cause leaks.

Pay attention to the indicator lights when using the Kosmen KM-12N dehumidifier.

• Cleaning the Water Tank

If the tank is dirty, clean it with cold or warm water. Do not use detergents, chemically treated cloths, gasoline, benzene, thinners, or other solvents, as they may damage the tank.

• Continuous Drainage

The unit has a drainage port that can be connected with an 11mm inner diameter plastic hose.
Do not immerse the end of the drainage hose in water. Ensure the hose is not too long or clogged to prevent back pressure, which could lead to water leaks.

Usage Precautions

• Place the unit upright on a flat, stable surface.
• Maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm from heat sources or flammable materials.
• Do not block the air intake or outlet.
• Only use the device for household purposes.
• Do not use in closets, wardrobes, boats, vehicles, or similar confined spaces.
• If the unit has been tilted or laid flat during transport or cleaning, let it stand upright for 1 hour before plugging in.
• Ensure the power supply matches the specifications on the device label.
• Avoid electrical overload and using voltages higher than the rated capacity of the wire. Overloaded wires may overheat and catch fire.
• Avoid dropping the unit during use or transport.
• Inspect the power cord before use. Do not use it if it’s damaged or frayed. Make sure the plug is secure and the insulation is intact.
• Always turn the unit on or off using the control panel — do not plug or unplug to start or stop the machine.
• Before moving the unit, turn it off, unplug it, and empty the water tank.
• Do not spray insect repellents or flammable cleaners on the unit.
• Do not pour or spray water directly on the unit.
