Product Functions

Dehumidification

Removes excess moisture from the air and maintains optimal humidity levels. The Kosmen KM-90S dehumidifier features a dehumidification capacity of 90 liters/day and an air circulation rate of 750 m³/h.

Dry Mode

Uses dehumidified airflow to dry the environment while balancing humidity levels. Quickly and continuously removes moisture from the air or objects to dry spaces, materials, or equipment.

Timer

The timer function allows users to flexibly set the operating time from 1 to 24 hours.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

Users can connect the device to Wi-Fi for easy control via a mobile app. Once connected, features such as humidity monitoring, function settings, and scheduling can be managed remotely and conveniently.

CO Mode (Continuous Operation)

The continuous mode allows the device to run non-stop until the user changes the settings.

Automatic Defrosting

When operating in low temperatures, the machine automatically detects system temperature. If frost is detected, the unit will stop and perform auto-defrosting.

Once defrosting is complete, the machine will automatically restart.

Memory Function

  • Equipped with a memory feature that saves operation history and retains the previous settings for up to 72 hours after a power outage. The unit will automatically resume its last programmed settings when power is restored.

Operating the device

When the device is powered on for the first time, it enters standby mode. Press the power button and set the target humidity to 3% lower than the current room humidity to begin operation.

If the set humidity is higher than the ambient humidity, the dehumidifier will not operate.

Dehumidifier Operation

The compressor will resume operation if the 3-minute protection period has passed and room humidity ≥ (set humidity + 5% RH).

The compressor will shut off if room humidity < (set humidity - 5% RH).

If room humidity is between: (set humidity - 5%) < current humidity < (set humidity + 5%), the compressor will maintain its current state (no switching). If humidity decreases and the compressor remains off for 3 minutes, the fan will automatically stop as well.

Drainage Indicator Light

Continuous Drainage:

The unit is equipped with a continuous drainage port that connects to a plastic hose for direct water discharge.

When using a hose, do not place the end of the hose into standing water to prevent pressure build-up or blockage, which may cause leaks due to poor drainage.

Installation Precautions

Electrical Connection and Installation Guide for Dehumidifier

1. Electrical Connection:

Electrical wiring must be carried out by qualified technicians in accordance with local electrical standards. For machines using three-phase AC power, control lines are color-coded to prevent confusion. The installation and configuration must match the voltage and frequency indicated on the device's nameplate.

2. Voltage and Frequency:

The dehumidifier operates only within the voltage and frequency limits specified on its label. Do not use the device beyond these limits.

3. Power Supply Check:

Before connecting to power, ensure that the voltage fluctuation does not exceed ±10% of the rated value. This is especially important in areas prone to power overload.

4. Electrical Safety:

The dehumidifier must be properly grounded. A power cutoff switch must be installed to facilitate maintenance and ensure safety.

5. Fuses and Power Cable:

  • The fuse's rated current should be 1.5 to 2 times the machine’s rated current.
  • Fuses should be installed within the machine's attachment section.
  • The power cable and fuse are critical for stable power supply.
  • Common fuse ratings: 10A 250V or 16A 250V.

6. Power Cord:

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified technician to ensure safety.

7. Installation Clearance:

To ensure safe and efficient operation, observe the following clearances:

  • Minimum 10 cm between machines
  • Minimum 200 cm from air outlet to ceiling or overhead obstruction
  • Minimum 20 cm from the back of the machine to the wall

Operating Precautions

To ensure safety and efficiency while using the dehumidifier, users must follow these guidelines:

Placement & Operation

  • Always place the unit upright on a flat, stable surface.
  • Maintain at least 30 cm clearance between the unit and flammable materials or heat sources.
  • Do not block the air inlet or grille.
  • Indoor use only. Do not operate in closets, wardrobes, boats, vehicles, or similarly enclosed spaces.
  • After transport or if the unit has been tilted (e.g., during cleaning), let it sit upright for at least 1 hour before plugging it in.

Electrical Safety

  • Ensure the power supply matches the specifications on the nameplate.
  • Do not share an outlet with other high-power appliances to avoid wire overload, which could cause overheating or fire.
  • Prevent the device from falling or receiving heavy impacts.
  • Regularly check the power cord for wear, punctures, or cracks.
  • Ensure the plug is secure and the insulation is intact.
  • Do not unplug the unit suddenly while it’s operating.
  • Always use the power button to shut down the unit before unplugging.
  • Before moving the device, turn it off, unplug it, and empty the water tank.

Things to Avoid

  • Do not use insect sprays, flammable cleaners, or spray water directly onto the unit.
  • Do not expose the unit to water or operate in excessively humid environments.

Use by Children & Elderly

  • The device may be used by children aged 8 and above and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, only under supervision and with proper instruction.
  • Do not allow children to play with the unit.
  • Children must not clean or perform maintenance on the device without adult supervision.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Only qualified and authorized technicians are permitted to disassemble or repair the device.
  • Periodically return the unit to the supplier or service center for professional inspection and maintenance.

Fan and Compressor Operation

  • When dehumidification starts, the fan runs for 5 seconds before the compressor starts.
  • When stopping, the compressor shuts off first, then the fan continues to run for 30 seconds before stopping completely.

Compressor Restart Time

  • After shutting down, the compressor requires 3 minutes before it can restart.
  • When running continuously for 72 hours, the system will automatically rest for 30 minutes before resuming operation.

Electrical Connection

The electrical connection must be carried out by qualified personnel and in accordance with the electrical standards applicable to the location where the equipment is installed. If the dehumidifier uses a three-phase alternating current power supply, the control lines must be marked with different colors to avoid confusion. The installed equipment must match the configuration, voltage, and specifications indicated on the nameplate.

1. The dehumidifier cannot operate at a voltage level that does not match the product’s specified parameters.

2. Before turning on the main power supply, the alternating current must be checked to ensure that the voltage fluctuation does not exceed ±10% of the voltage and frequency required by the equipment. This check is especially important in cases where voltage fluctuations may occur due to overload conditions.

3. The dehumidifier must be properly grounded, and a disconnect switch must be installed to ensure the equipment can be powered off during inspection and maintenance.

4. The fuse current rating of the power supply should be 1.5 to 2 times the rated current of the installed dehumidifier. The fuse must be installed within the dehumidifier's enclosure. The power supply cable and fuse are essential to ensure that the electrical supply meets the dehumidifier’s operating requirements. Recommended fuse ratings: 10A 250V, 16A 250V.

5. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified technician to avoid hazards.

6. Minimum clearance requirements must be ensured during operation:

  • The minimum distance between the air intake and surrounding structures must not be less than 80 cm.
  • The minimum distance between two dehumidifiers must be 10 cm.
  • The minimum distance from adjacent machines must not be less than 800 cm.
  • The minimum distance between the air outlet and nearby structures must not be less than 800 cm.
