Drying (Dry Mode)
Dries using dehumidified airflow while maintaining balanced humidity in the environment. Quickly and continuously removes moisture from the air or objects, helping to dry spaces, items, or raw materials. Applicable for drying bird's nest, rice paper, paper, etc.
Timer Function (Timing)
Allows setting the operating time from 1 to 24 hours, saving energy and simplifying management.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
Connects to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app for remote control, monitoring environmental humidity, and scheduling operation.
CO - Continuous Mode
The machine operates continuously to maintain the lowest possible humidity level. Suitable for storage warehouses, workshops, or drying rooms.
Auto Defrost
When the sensor detects frost on the cooling coil, the unit will automatically pause and defrost. Once defrosting is complete, the machine will restart automatically.
Memory Function
In case of a power outage, the machine automatically saves the previous operating settings and resumes operation within 72 hours once power is restored.

Operating Instructions
Operating the Dehumidifier
- When the machine is turned on for the first time, it will enter standby mode. Press the On/Off button to start the machine. Then, set a target humidity level that is at least 5% lower than the current room humidity to activate the dehumidification mode.
- If the set humidity is higher than the current room humidity, the dehumidification function will not activate.
Compressor Operation Mode
- The compressor will restart after a 3-minute safety delay if the room humidity ≥ set humidity + 5% RH.
- The compressor will stop if the room humidity < set humidity - 5% RH.
- If the room humidity is within the stable range:
- (Set humidity - 5%) < Room humidity < (Set humidity + 5%),
- the system will maintain its current state and avoid frequent switching of the compressor.
- Once the humidity drops to the set threshold, if the compressor is idle for 3 minutes, the fan will automatically stop to save energy and protect the device.
- When starting operation, the fan will run for about 5 seconds before the compressor starts.
- When stopping, the compressor will shut off first, and the fan will continue running for an additional 30 seconds before completely stopping.
- After shutting down, the compressor requires a minimum of 3 minutes before it can restart.
- If the machine operates continuously for 72 hours, the system will automatically pause for 30 minutes to protect the device, and then resume operation.
Drainage Indicator Light
The machine comes with a 60 cm drainage hose to discharge water directly outside. When using the hose drainage function, please note the following:
- Do not place the end of the drainage hose in water, to avoid backflow into the machine.
- Do not make the hose too long or position it too high, as this may create back pressure inside the hose, causing drainage blockage.
- If water cannot drain smoothly, it may lead to leakage or error notifications.
- Always ensure the drainage hose is properly installed and unobstructed during operation to maintain stable performance.

Installation Guidelines
Electrical Wiring and Installation Instructions for the Dehumidifier
Electrical Connection
The power connection must be performed by a qualified technician and must comply with local electrical standards. For machines using three-phase AC power, control wires are color-coded to prevent misconnection.
Voltage Check
The dehumidifier only operates within the voltage and frequency range specified on the nameplate. Voltage fluctuations should not exceed ±10% of the standard. Operating outside this range may cause damage to the device.
Grounding
The dehumidifier must be properly grounded and equipped with a power cut-off switch to ensure the device is completely disconnected during inspection and maintenance. The yellow/green wire is the ground wire — it must not be removed or connected incorrectly.
Installation Distance
- Minimum 80 cm clearance between the air inlet and surrounding objects
- Minimum 300 cm clearance between the air outlet and surrounding objects
- Minimum 10 cm between two machines
- Minimum 200 cm from the air outlet to the ceiling or any obstruction above
- Minimum 20 cm from the back of the unit to the wall
Usage Precautions
To ensure safety and optimal performance when using the dehumidifier, users should observe the following:
Installation and Operation Location
- Place the machine upright on a flat and stable surface.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm between the machine and flammable materials or heat sources.
- Do not block the air intake or cooling vent of the device.
- Use the dehumidifier indoors only; do not use it inside closets, wardrobes, boats, vehicles, or other enclosed spaces.
- After transportation or if the machine has been tilted (e.g., during cleaning), let it stand for at least 1 hour before plugging it back in.
Electrical Safety
- Use a power source that matches the specifications indicated on the nameplate.
- Do not share the same outlet with high-power appliances to avoid overload or fire risk.
- Do not let the machine fall or be subjected to strong impact.
- Regularly inspect the power cord to ensure it is not worn, punctured, or cracked.
- The plug must be secure, and the insulation cover must not be damaged.
- Do not unplug the power cord abruptly while the device is running.
- Always turn off the machine using the power button before disconnecting from power.
- Before moving the machine, turn it off, unplug it, and empty the water tank.
- A fuse must be installed in the dehumidifier’s fuse holder. Use power cables and fuses rated at 10A 250V or 16A 250V.
Usage Notes for the Kosmen KM-180S Industrial Dehumidifier
Things to Avoid
- Do not use insect sprays, flammable cleaners, or spray water directly onto the device.
- Do not expose the machine to water or place it in an excessively humid environment.
Maintenance and Repair
- Only licensed technicians are permitted to disassemble or repair the device.
- It is recommended to send the unit to a service center or authorized supplier periodically for proper inspection and maintenance.
Humidity Control Range
- The dehumidifier is capable of controlling humidity levels from 10% to 90%.
Grounding Instructions
- The dehumidifier is a Class I electrical appliance, and proper grounding must be ensured.
- The yellow and green wire inside the device is the ground wire; it must not be removed or repurposed. Violating this rule may result in the risk of electric shock.
- Ground resistance must comply with national standards IEC 60335-2-40.
- The power source must have a reliable grounding connection. Do not connect the ground wire to:
- Water pipes
- Gas pipelines
- Any location not verified as safe by a qualified professional
5. If any incidents occur due to improper grounding, the user will bear full responsibility.

Troubleshooting
Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
Machine does not operate | - Power outage - Power switch not turned on - Blown fuse - Timer is active - Water tank is full or improperly installed | - Wait for power to return - Turn on the power switch - Replace the fuse - Cancel or wait for timer to end - Empty water tank and reinstall correctly |
Ineffective dehumidification | - Inappropriate humidity setting - Obstruction near air inlet/outlet - Insufficient operation time - Doors or windows are open - Ambient temperature is out of range (< 5°C or > 38°C) | - Reset appropriate humidity level - Remove obstructions - Extend operation time - Close all doors and windows - Ensure temperature is between 5–38°C |
Machine won't restart immediately after turning off | Compressor protection mechanism | Wait 3 minutes for the device to restart normally |
Water leakage | - Loose drainage hose - Blocked drainage system | - Check and tighten the drainage hose - Clean the drainage system |
Condensation on unit surface | Natural condensation | The unit will auto-defrost — this is normal |
Slight vibration on startup/shutdown | Mechanical vibration during operational transitions | Normal condition, does not affect performance |
